Miami’s Most Iconic Events Are Coming Up — Here’s What Families Can’t Miss!

As a Miami native, a mom of two energetic little ones, and a local realtor who truly loves this city, these events feel extra special to me. Some of them — like the Coconut Grove Arts Festival — are things I grew up going to, and now I get to experience them all over again through my kids’ eyes.

Miami’s season of festivals is one of the best parts of living here, and the upcoming weeks are packed with iconic events that have plenty of fun for families too. Here are the kid-friendly highlights you won’t want to miss:

Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show

Date: February 11–15, 2026

Location: Multiple waterfront venues across Miami & Miami Beach

Whether you’re looking to buy, you’re a true boating expert, or you just want a fun day out with the family, the Miami Boat Show is such a classic Miami experience.

It’s exciting, lively, and perfect for kids who love exploring boats and being near the water. The best family spot is Pride Park, home to the Progressive Boat Show Experience — a kid-friendly zone with interactive games, seafaring characters, and the massive 40,000-gallon AquaZone with live demos on the water.

And don’t miss the Kids Fishing Clinics with Captain Don Dingman, happening Saturday and Sunday at 12PM and 2PM. These hands-on sessions are perfect for young anglers, and every child leaves with a free rod and reel combo plus the chance to win prizes.

Tip: Tickets must be purchased digitally in advance — there’s no onsite box office.

Coconut Grove Arts Festival

Date: February 14–16, 2026

Location: Regatta Park & surrounding streets, Coconut Grove

This one is especially close to my heart. I grew up going to the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, and it’s one of those Miami traditions that never loses its magic. Walking along the waterfront surrounded by art, music, and that classic Grove energy feels like stepping into a piece of old Miami.

It’s also a wonderful family day out, with interactive experiences for kids — including the Young Collectors program. For just $5, children ages 5–12 can purchase their very own piece of art donated by festival artists. It’s such a special way to make them feel included (and honestly, the cutest souvenir).

Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF®)

Date: February 19–22, 2026

Location : Locations throughout South Beach & Miami Beach

SOBEWFF is one of Miami’s biggest foodie events, and while many events are geared toward adults, there are a few that are perfect for families too.

One standout is the Zakarian Family BBQ at Loews Miami Beach, featuring the bold, smoky creations of one of my favorite spots in Miami-  Apocalypse BBQ.

Apocalypse BBQ is a Miami-born barbecue concept that started as a backyard passion project and quickly grew into one of the city’s most talked-about food pop-ups that now has a brick and mortar location in Kendall

For great food, a fun atmosphere, and an easy way to experience the festival without needing a babysitter - this is one you won't want to miss.

South Miami Art Festival (SoMi ArtFest)

Date: February 21–22, 2026
Location: Sunset Drive, Downtown South Miami

If you went to the Grove Arts Festival and didn’t quite find the perfect piece to take home, this one is a fantastic follow-up — happening the very next weekend.

The SoMi ArtFest is one of my favorite easy outings with kids because it has a much more laid-back, neighborhood vibe. It’s free, family-friendly, and feels like a true community weekend in South Miami.

Plus, there’s a dedicated Kids Zone with:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Face painting
  • Sensory tables
  • Storytelling

It’s the kind of event where you can stroll, grab a snack, and let the kids actually enjoy themselves too.

Montreux Jazz Festival Miami (Coconut Grove Jazz Fest)

Date: February 27–March 1, 2026
Location: The Hangar at Regatta Harbour, Coconut Grove

Bringing the world-famous Montreux Jazz name to Coconut Grove is such a special addition to Miami’s event season. This one is best for families with older kids or teens who enjoy live music (doors don't open until 5pm and children under 6 are not allowed).

Beyond the music, indulge in culinary experiences from Miami’s most celebrated chefs and restaurants, enjoy l cocktails, and wander through immersive art installations, VIP lounges, and waterfront spaces designed to make every moment feel special.

Breathtaking waterfront views, Grove vibes, and incredible performances - what more could you ask for?
